Picking out a wedding gown is one of the defining moments in a woman’s life. Capturing the beauty of a blushing bride in the dress that was meant for her is one of my favorite sessions to shoot. It’s often the first time a bride will see herself as the person she will present to her groom on their wedding day! It’s kind of a big deal. And to think I get to do this for a living!
Katie’s ivory dress was stunning against the raw Oklahoma landscape. Not only is she gorgeous, but you can tell she feels gorgeous too!

Katie went dress shopping at Pomp and Pageantry with her mother. “I learned by watching Say Yes to the Dress that too many opinions can be a bad thing”, said Katie. Her Maggie Sottero gown was the first dress she tried on, and after trying a few more styles, she decided it was the perfect dress. She remembers NOT wanting to take it off. “It felt like it was made just for me.” –Katie

Many brides hesitate to venture out into fields and woods for their bridal shoots, but Katie says not to worry! “Randy was great…he was constantly making sure my dress didn’t get dirty. I learned the sheet trick, too! He placed a sheet under my dress when I stood in dirt, then hid the sheet under the dress.”
Images from Katie’s October 2011 wedding are coming soon! While you wait, take a look at her and husband Zack’s engagement session in the previous blog post!
