My name is Randy and I have a huge passion for turning people’s emotions and stories into art! There is something truly fulfilling in knowing that you’ve captured an image that will stir the soul and tell a story for years to come. I'm constantly looking for people who share the same passion for their own pictures.
One wedding done and delivered. Congrats Dara and Micheal. I hope you enjoy your images. It was great hanging with you and your wonderful family at the Wedding Preview Party! (Keep scrolling for more of this blog entry)…
Now on to the next wedding… I’m loving these images and couldn’t wait to share a few with you. I’ll share more when the wedding is finished. In the meantime, Dom and Coleman picked the most incredible venue for their wedding. An old church right in the middle of downtown KC. What was truly amazing was why they chose the church. It wasn’t all remodeled and perfect. In fact it was a real place where very real people who were homeless had their needs met everyday. A place of true refuge. In all of our success I am continually reminded how much people around us need our help. God has blessed us with fantastic talents, resources, and families…I believe He fully expects us to use those blessings to help others. That’s why I love this wedding so much. Dom and Coleman have huge hearts and they allowed the biggest day of their lives to be a blessing to so many. The wedding was beautiful, the worship lifted your spirit, and the hungry were fed a beautiful meal at the reception. Thanks for being an example to us Dom and Coleman…Love you guys! Be blessed! ~Randy
It’s been a great week and we’ve made a lot of progress at the studo. We’re no where close to being done but that hasn’t stopped us or our clients from wanting to be in the doors. So much fun! We threw two wedding preview parties this week, shot The Chance Anderson Band, did a product shoot for www.ritzybaby.com, and held and booked four wedding consults! We even managed to move our offices in during the chaos. Crazy huh?
We still have a conference room to build out, kitchenette, art and lighting for the walls, and all kinds of work to do in the shooting space. One step at a time right?!? I’m going to take a bit of a break from the studio improvements for the next two weeks so we can get caught up on our weddings. In the meantime I’ve had plenty of people asking for an update so here’s a few pics so you can see the progress we’ve made.
One last thing, we’re super close to adding an associate photographer and designer. I’ll make a formal announcement this week. Laura Suttles is fully integrated as our studio manager, and of course my right hand on location, Macy Fitzgerald, is rocking it as usual. I’ll have an update about our team with pictures in the very near future. Until then, enjoy and as always…Be blessed! ~Randy
Here’s the space as rented
Here’s we are set up for business! Still a long way to go! We have some beautiful north facing window light. Can’t wait to really get this space setup. Our wedding parties and consults are done to the right. You can see the tv tilting off the wall. And yest the couches are still not here! They’re saying Monday, fingers crossed! I do love my coffee table! Offices are going to run along the back wall.
This will be our consulting, and preview party space. Furniture, lighting and blinds still to go.
Experimenting with some constant video lights to supplement the natural light. So far we’re getting some really nice results. Yes those are cans of soup. If anyone wants to buy me some gaffer tape as a house warming present please do.
That’s 60 inches of LED Love. Forget photography, Monday night football anyone! Big shout out to Chris Thomas who did our video, sound, and server installation. The guy rocks and he’s fast. If you need anything like this drop me an email and I’ll hook you up.
August 29, 2010 - 1:14 pmNicole - Love the space... so full of potential! And you're adding an associate photographer... now that's a dream job! Is this someone you've already found, or someone you'll be looking for?
August 31, 2010 - 11:02 amRandy Coleman - Thanks Nicole. It's someone we've already brought on. She did a mentoring session with me a while back. She's a great kids photographer and has really developed her talent. Very excited to have her on the team.
I don’t have much time to write today but I couldn’t wait to share this blog post since I had the chance to work on it while traveling to Costa Rica for my 2nd of three weddings this week. Definitely heading in for a massage next Tuesday!
Once again I am blown away by the friendships and the incredible people I get to meet in this journey! I hope you feel all the joy and beauty present at Erin and Britton’s rehearsal dinner and their big day through their pictures. Be blessed! ~Randy
Meet my friend, partner, and all around amazing mother to not only her own children but to single mom’s and their kids in some of Oklahoma City’s toughest neighborhoods. Her name is Amy, her story is inspiring, and her mission is changing lives everyday. I know, I’ve watched her in action. And let me tell you, there isn’t one pastor in Oklahoma City who has anything on this lady and her ability to reach right into people’s lives and have an immediate impact. If you’re looking for a place to lay down some roots and really make a difference in your community you need to start following The Tapestry Project. I’ll place some links at the bottom of this post. One thing I love about Amy is she’s not about mass ministry, she’s about focused impact. Last Saturday I had the privilege of photographing their back to school party for their neighborhood kids. There were back packs, school supplies, and most importantly HOT DOGS and water games! I hope these images touch you and inspire you to act and make a difference in your city today! Amy and I will be working closely together in the years ahead so maybe I’ll run into you at the next Tapestry event! Until then, be blessed! ~Randy
This was one of my favorite sessions this summer for sure. Julie and Stone recently lost their husband/father to cancer. This session was all about celebrating life, family, and what’s most important. When Julie first contacted me she told me how important this shoot was because she too is battling cancer. I can’t even imagine. Julie and Stone are two of the strongest people I have ever met in my life. Their bond was amazing and their joy in the face of such adversity even more so. At this very moment Julie’s future is looking good but she’s in the thick of the fight as she is currently undergoing chemo. Please pray for God’s magnificent blessings and grace on their life in the days ahead. Love you guys! ~Be blessed, Randy

Two of the nicest, most real, authentic people you will ever meet. I photographed their family a year ago and was thrilled when Lisa called and asked if I would shoot her maternity pics, birth, and newborn pictures. What an incredible journey to go on with these guys. I love them and their friendship is one I value deeply! Enjoy their beautiful family! ~Randy
One more thing, Chris is one of the cofounders of Keep It Local OKC. It’s a fantastic service and is blowing up all over town. Be sure and check them out http://keepitlocalokc.com
I call the picture below “man hands”, didn’t really plan it but laughed hard when I saw it! Those are Chris’s thumbs in Lisa’s pockets.
August 13, 2010 - 1:40 pmLisa Branson - Oh Randy, the pics are even better than I imagined them to be! Again and I can't say this ENOUGH, you have an amazing talent and I'm so glad/thankful/blessed to have you in our lives! Much love from the Branson's! :)
August 17, 2010 - 9:21 amKristin - Randy,
Although it's not the primary purpose of the shoot, I have to thank you, as a friend who never gets to see their beautiful faces, for capturing their joy on camera! You have an incredible talent and I am so thankful that I get to see a glimpse of the Branson's through your art. Thank you!
August 19, 2010 - 3:39 pmJohn Blanchard - Randy, those shots are incredible. Great work!
It was a year ago I had the priveledge of photographing Piper when she was just days old. Christy and Jake are without a doubt some of my very favorite people ever. A year later they’re more in love than ever. Piper is just about the most blessed little baby on the planet. With parents who are so full of energy, smiles, and goodness there is nothing but greatness in store for her. Thank you Christy and Jake for coming back and letting me continue to be a part of your lives. Means more than you can know! Happy birthday Piper! Be blessed! ~Randy
Starla and Sload are so in love. Their shoot was a blast. Lot’s of laughter and lot’s of loving. Sloan couldn’t keep his hands or lips off of Starla! It was so much fun. Looking forward to drinks and a long friendship with these guys! Have a great wedding in St. Lucia, you guys deserve it! Be blessed and enjoy! ~Randy
Can’t even tell you how much fun we had on this shoot. Ashley told me everything had to be western! One of the things I love is working with my brides to figure out exactly the kind of sessions that make there personalities come flying through. We started at an old red barn I came across on a bike ride. We then ventured into a completely mosquito infested field of golden something or ‘nother. We got the pics and got out. No malaria so we’re all good. We finished up at the OKC stockyards at sunset! It was pretty sweet!
Ashley and Colter’s wedding in Ponca City this fall is going to be off the charts. It’s on her parent’s ranch. Ceremony on a cliff overlooking the lake, reception and dance in the old barn, and it’s rumored there might be a little homemade moonshine at the reception. Aside from all this amazingness…these two are fantastically genuine, happy, and totally in love! I love that they are planning a wedding full of details that fit them perfectly. I’m getting to work with a lot of brides like that lately and it’s super fun helping them plan there big day! I have the best job ever! Thanks Ashley and Colter for picking me to shoot your wedding! Love you guys! Enjoy!
